The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) conducts its prestigious Summer Internship Programme every year during the months of June and July, admitting a large number of meritorious undergraduate and postgraduate students from reputed institutions such as IITs, IISERs, and other leading universities. Students enrolled in various B.Tech., BS–MS, M.Sc., Economics, and Social Sciences programmes from diverse academic backgrounds participate in this internship.

The selected interns are provided with an excellent opportunity to work closely with expert faculty members on short-term academic and research projects aligned with their interests. Interns also gain valuable hands-on experience through access to advanced laboratory and computational facilities at IIST.

During the internship period, students interact with research scholars and faculty members and are encouraged to attend seminars, workshops, and conferences organized at the institute. The programme also serves as a platform for exploring long-term academic engagement and higher education opportunities at IIST.
